Hi, Kathie. I saw the windy 6, that delivered with incorrect power adapter! The Infrasonic Windy 6 soundcard can take power from firewire BUS. U may check it with Desktop PC (not notebook), that have full-sized (6 pins) IEEE1394 port with power! I am not an Infrasonic specialist, I am a private person. Best regards, Ilia. |

Dear Kathie, Thank you for contacting us. Ilia told you right, there are two types of firewire connectors. 4 pins without power lines, notebooks are equipped with this type of connector and desktop computers are usually equipped with 6 pin connectors, which can power the connected devices as well. If you are using Windy6 with a notebook, your only option is to use the bundled external DC adapter, 4pins -> 6pins firewire converter and the firewire cable. If you have a desktop a computer, the only tool you might need is the firewire cable, the DC adapter is not necessary. In case your Windy6 does not power up at all connected to a desktop computer, neither with the DC adapter, please contact the place of purchase for RMA, since your audio interface has failed to work. I'm sorry for the bad news and for the inconvenience it may had caused. I shall be pleased to provide further assistance if it is required. Thank you for allowing us to be of service to you. Best Regards, SIMS Corp. |

Hello to everyone! Oh, thank you very much for your replies. This is very useful and important for me. I contacted for RMA and they said to me that my card may be blocked up cause i accidentally use DC adapter without IEEE 1394 connection. That thing really can be? I'll check it with 6 pin connection. And check that delivered adapter. With many thanks, Kathie. |
