Recording from microphone not working
Hi, Balint.

=======
Additions 2 (because I cannot post reply here):

Balint,

your new beta driver do not works with the WDM recording, too. I am not a lamer, I have connected the hardware input to WDM input. This is a bug in driver, bacause I have random results. The input may be recorderd, but after reboot, hibernate and so on the input may not complete work. All WDM software do not work, including Windows phone recording. But ASIO works! Please do not ignore me.

=======
Additions: this is not a specific software problem. I have the same results in different applications, i.e. Skype, and in windows Microphone Control Panel Level Indicator. I get randomized recording: digital noise, "metallized" signal, strange reverberated songs, small noise <50db, no signal. Probably driver sends incorrect buffers, or these buffers have garbage, connected with StereoMix buffers.
=======

I cannot setup it to use with a Direct Sound application (i.e. Streamosaur) to record from microphone input.
I get random results.

My system: Just installed Windows 7 SP1 64-bit, Infrasonic Quartet Driver 1.23.07 (or .04), external microphone, Motherboard sound card is disabled in BIOS.

Steps to get this bug:

1. Connect everything and check microphone is working (Quartet Panel).
2. Windows Control Panel - Audio - Record - Microphone. It as a default device. Properties: Hear from this device is disabled (if not - a metallic sound may play), Format: 2 channels, 24 bit, 44100. Or 16bit, or any, you like.
3. Start Streamosaur http://www.wavosaur.com/streamosaur/.
4. Right Click to a level bar (on right side) - select a popup menu item Configuration. Select Microphone (QUARTET Audio Driver). Ok.
It must show a real microphone level and a sound form in a realtime

Different effects: If I select different formats: 2 channels, 24 bit, 44100). or 16 bit, or other, Streamosaur show different forms. Restarting application may also give different effects. If I play any Windows Direct Sound source, it may show a different form. Rebooting, reinstalling different Quartet driver show different results. It may record a silence, a some strange cracked sounds. Also Windows Microphone Settings Panel may show different levels: no level, some bars.

Some months ago I had a working setup. After some reboots, reinstalls, different settings I had the recording working correctly. But now, after reinstalling the system I cannot setup it. ASIO recording works correctly. Also I have tried Skype. After start, I had it working, but after some tests, reboot, etc, it records a noise.

Please help.

Dear Andrew,

Thank you for contacting us and for purchasing our product.
I think the manual is not detailed enough in this matter, I¡¯m sorry for the inconvenience. Quartet supports only 1 external WDM (DirectSound) input, which is labeled as Microphone in Windows sound settings. The input source can be routed via FREE MIXER to the WDM input, so please set H/W IN 3/4 to WDM IN 1/2 in FREE MIXER.
Also there¡¯s a new driver available on the link below, it will be uploaded to the international website soon:
www.simsaudio.co.kr/download/ISQUARTET_V1.24.04_BETA_XPVISTAWIN7(20110318).zip
This features a new control panel layout with the control panel and free mixer being merged in a new user interface.
I shall be pleased to provide further assistance if it is required.
Thank you for allowing us to be of service to you.

Best Regards,
Balint M.

I have the same problem as Andrew.
I'm using Infrasonic Quartet have Windows 7 64bit SP1, CPU i7 920, motherboard GA-EX58-EXTREME, video AMD hd6970, lots of RAM. Version of Infrasonic Quartet drivers 1.24.10.

I can't record microphone from WDM inputs when I route Line in to WDM in. I can only hear sound coming through microphone when I route Line in to Line out or chose to use Out3/4. Tried some other driver versions - they don't work too.

When I had XP SP3 32 bit there were no problems.
