![]() Hi! After changing from Windows XP (32 bit) to Windows 7 (64 bit) i have crackles and clicks while playing any sound after booting (even the Windows startup sound is playing). This problem Just disappear after a new reboot. In Windows XP it all worked fine. My second issue: in XP i was able to change my samplerate (with Quartet's Auto mode) in my DAW's audio settings and it also automatically changed in Quartet's Driver panel. But since Win 7 this is no more possible and i have to switch to Quartet's "Lock" mode and change the samplerate manually after changing it in my DAW's. Same problem with Latency settings. In XP all worked fine, in Win 7 this doesn't. My system: Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit) 4 GB RAM CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6000+ Mainboard: Elitegroup A780GM-A Black Edition GPU: Nvidia GeForce 9600 GT Used DAW's: Steinberg Cubase 5 (32 bit), Ableton Live 8 (32 bit)/Live 9 (64 bit), Propellerhead Reason 6.5 (32bit and 64 bit) Greets Michael Edit: I now found and installed the new driver version 1.25.04. Now changing samplerate/latency works fine in Reason 6.5. But in Cubase and Ableton Live it still doesn't. |

Dear Michael, Thank you for contacting us. I'm glad to hear that most of the issues were resolved by driver v1.25.04 The latency can be changed within Cubase, just make sure, that no other ASIO applications are running when adjusting the buffer setting. Please see the screenshot for your reference below: http://simsaudio.co.kr/support/cubase.png This applies to Ableton Live as well. Regarding the clicks/crackles after cold startup, have you tried to install Quartet in the 2 other available PCI slots? It may solve that problem, there was no exact information on the IRQ layout in the mainboard's manual though. I'm looking forward to your kind feedback and I shall be pleased to provide further assistance if it is required. Thank you. Best Regards, SIMS Corp. |
