![]() Well, just had a quick look since when I tried to get this bloddy card working flawlessy. It was back in late 2009, when I purchased it together with some Blow 4D speakers, which I still rate excellent. In opposite the Quartet isn't up to the same quality, let it be the hardware or software I can't say since not too deep into that field. But distorted sounds, crackling, fuzz-box alike output seem to be a feature of this card. Since I tried in 3 differnt mainboards, Win XP aswell as Win7 x64 since more but a year, I recently felt to have a look is something did chance with software. You definately managed to get someone with skill to implement a nice frontend. But the basics are still broken. Thus you better get a skilled programmer with some knowledge of hardware driver rogramming. My conclusion about infrasonic: You could build speakers, no question. You can't cope with soundcards and their driversoftware. 1,5 year awaiting a propper soltution is definatly too long. You better leave that to companies with higher skills since it'll fall back to the brand in a very negative way. At least I couldn't recommend the Quartet, despite the fact that it's mixing abilities are outstanding. But it's as if comparing a nice looking jaguar against a cheapish ford. As long as the engine of the jaguar is broken, the ford is the better choice if all you want is driving. |

Dear Stefan, Thank you for contacting us and for your feedback. I'm very sorry to hear about your bad experiences. All I can say for now for sure, that this seems to be very unusual behavior from Quartet. Could you describe the problem you are having with the sound card? You have mentioned distorted sounds, crackling, fuzz-box alike output in your message. Please let me know the symptoms and the exact circumstances, when you experience this. The most important informations are the type of in/outputs, free mixer configuration, applications, DPC latency and hardware environment. I'm looking forward to your valued reply. If you prefer e-mails over this support board due to attachments, please feel free to contact me at support@simsaudio.com and I will post the correspondence here as well. Kind Regards, SIMS Corp. |
