![]() Dear SIMS Support team, I am not able to attach any MIDI device to the input of my Quartet. Whenever i connect a device the input just goes crazy and seems to receive arbitrary packets. This happens for any device I connect, so i figure it has to be a problem with the Quartet itself. When i connect the Quartet MIDI OUT to Quartet MIDI IN the same thing happens. No application is sending any midi data but the device seems to receive a lot of random packets. Is it a known problem for certain systems? Is my card broken? My System: WIN7 x64 AMD Phenom X6 Drivers 1.24.10 and 1.25.02 |

Dear Adam, Thank you for contacting us. This is definitely a unique problem for any system. A hardware failure can not be excluded, but I would not go so far right away. Have you experienced any other strange behavior of Quartet, which you may find strange? Have you tested another MIDI cable or Quartet itself in another computer? Could you please check, if the breakout cable is connected tight and securely? Which software are you using to detect the random packets? FYI: MIDI OX is a great freeware application to take an in-depth look at the messages. I shall be pleased to provide further assistance if it is required. Thank you. Best Regards, SIMS Corp. |
